I enjoy, have played and/or competed in many other sports: water skiing, skiing, baseball, soccer, football, hockey, track and field. However, without a doubt, it's all about being on the water for me. It's where where I'm the happiest...surfing, SUP, outrigger, sailing, etc.
My proudest, most rewarding and what I am most thankful for has been returning to the water, let alone being able to compete following a significant injury, multiple surgeries and years of struggle and hard work in physical therapy.
Right now I'd have to say last year's Catalina Channel Crossing with Team Cal as it was a culmination of lots of things for me... getting back into the sport, a hard, fun race and a great result with some incredible paddlers and good people.
